Roose Bolton Roose Bolton is the head of House Bolton and Lord of the Dreadfort in the North. He receives regular leechings, which he believes to improve his health, prompting some to call him the Leech Lord. Though mild-mannered, Roose is cold, patient,calculating, and capable of great cruelty. Some would dub him a master tactician. Roose practices the abolished tradition of the first night. However, he -is discreet about his activities in order to avoid the attention and possible ire of the Lords of the North, House Stark. Roose married Bethany Ryswell after the death of his first wife. Together the couple have one son, Domeric Bolton, the heir of the Dreadfort. Roose describes Bethany as "soundless in bed" for reasons he doesn't know. He attended the Tourney at Harrenhal at his wife's plea but did not participate in any events.
When the War of the Usurper began, Roose was summoned by Lord Eddard Stark to raise his banners. He was present on the field at the Battle of the Bells when the Northerners and Easterners crushed and scattered Jon Connington's men. |
Bethany Bolton Bethany Bolton is the eldest daughter/child of Lord Rodrik Ryswell. In her youth she was quite caring for her siblings Barbrey, Rickard, Roger & Roose Ryswell. Once Bethany had flowered, she drew the attention of a
young, handsome and charming lord, who is unnamed, in which he claimed
her maidenhood. However, when Bethany came of age her father, Lord
Rodrik Ryswell, married her to the widower Roose Bolton, begetting her
to become Lady of the Dreadfort. A forth night after her to wedding
Roose, Bethany reunited with her yore of a lover and spent one last
conspiratorial night with him before he returned to his domicile.
Bethany secretly finds her husband to be distasteful after uncovering he constantly partakes in the "First Night" regime, explaining her rather subdued behavior in bed. Months later, Bethany birthed a son,
Domeric Bolton, making him heir of the Dreadfort.
Despite her inadequate marriage, Bethany has great admiration for her son. She labels him one of the reasons she lives for and an ideal substitute for her lackluster marriage. Bethany affirms that Domeric has the congenial facial feature of his father but Barbrey cannot see the similarities to Roose. Bethany has sometimes been in distraught with a secret she holds, though she feels revealing it's content will have too severe consequences. Bethany attended the Tourney at Harrenhal where she was accompanied by Barbrey Dustin, Willam Dustin & her lord husband Roose Bolton. |
