Lord Dustin
Lord Dustin, Born 239AC, was the former Lord of Barrowton. He had one and only son/heir, Willam Dustin. When Brandon Stark was eight, Lord Dustin offered Rickard Stark the chance to foster Brandon in Barrowton alongside his own son Willam. Rickard accepted, be it that the Dustins were House Starks biggest vassal. Despite Lord Dustin's teachings, Brandon was not very tentative and spent most of his time in the Rills. Lord Dustin died of heart failure right around the time Brandon returned to Winterfell, which promoted Willam as the new Lord of Barrowton.

Willam Dustin
Willam Dustin is the paramount of the Barrowlands, Head of House Dustin and lord of Barrowton. In his youth Willam had befriended Brandon Stark whilst the heir of Winterfell was being fostered in Barrowton, gaining a new ally. Willam found Barbrey Ryswell to be alluring and had quite the fascination with her. Those feelings however soon grew cold after finding out Lady Ryswell's heart belonged to another, Brandon Stark, who would soon take her maidenhood. As time passed Brandon Stark returned to Winterfell whilst Willam took over the main seat of Barrow Hall.
After hearing news that Barbrey was escorted out of Barrowton without authorization, Willam investigated the matter, finding the young lady forcefully bare and in a compromising predicament with none other then Brandon Stark, in the Rills. Willam threatened Brandon to leave or face trial under the Warden, Rickard Stark {Father of Brandon} who would be very assertive in keeping discipline and order. Brandon reluctantly left thus ending a long running friendship. Willam insists Brandon tried to molest Barbrey, a claim the young Stark denies to this day. A grateful Barbrey Ryswell warmed up to Willam in which he confessed his boyhood fascination about her. Soon enough the loving couple eloped. Unfortunately their first few months together turned out to be a blissful stage as soon after Willam grew frustrated after Barbrey had still not produced him an heir despite their constant beddings. They both attended the Tourney at Harrenhal with Bethany and Roose Bolton but things took a turn for the worse as Willam spotted his wife in the arms of another man, his long time foe/friend, Brandon Stark. Willam suspects Barbrey's infidelity which led him to engage in an affair with Hoster Tully's youngest daughter, Lysa Tully. Willam constantly ignored Barbrey at the Tourney, instead he chose to find comfort in young Lady Lysa. The affair did not last very long though after Lysa broke it off for unspecified reasons. Months passed after the tourney and Willam and Barbrey still did not mend the flaws of their marriage. That was until the night before the events of the rebellion, when Barbrey approached the Willam by the Barrowhall highchair. She confessed to feeling lost, alone and confused, in which she tried to warm up to her lord. It proved effective as Willam reciprocated the feeling. Later that night, after engaging in passionate love, Lord Eddard Stark summoned his banners, including the Dustins, to aid in the War. Barbrey was left horrid at the news of Brandon's execution and the rebellion, none more so then losing Willam to the war. Willam did not have the same feelings however, instead he shrugged of her fears and exhumed his inner confidence and jaunty persona. His wife pleaded and exhorted for Willam to stay with her, yet in the end he still departed. He left Barbrey with no heir, just a promise of returning to her one day. In return, she gifted him with a red Stallion to ride as his steed in battle. When Willam arrived in Riverrun for the wedding of his liege lord, he was reacquainted with a former lover. This time however, his feelings for Barbrey overshadowed his desire for Lysa Tully. |
Barbrey Dustin
Barbrey Ryswell-Dustin is the Lady of Barrowton and the second daughter/child of Lord Rodrik Ryswell. Her siblings are Bethany, Roger, Rickard and Roose Ryswell. When Brandon Stark was fostered in Barrowton, Barbrey grew infatuated with him. Brandon later claimed Barbrey's maidenhood and the couple began an intimate affair thereafter. Lord Rodrik Ryswell offered his daughter's hand in marriage to Rickard's heir, Brandon Stark, however Rickard was persuaded not to. As time passed Brandon Stark returned to Winterfell where it was announced he was betrothed to Lady Catelyn Tully of Riverrun. After the news broke to Barbrey, Brandon returned to the Barrowlands in which he persuaded Barbrey to meet him in the Rills, proposing an alternate offer to her. Brandon requested Barbrey to marry his younger brother, Eddard, in hope they would see each other and continue their secret love affair. Barbrey was not very compliant however, seeking more then being just a mistress. An enraged Brandon Stark sexually took Barbrey that night with clamorous but after hearing news that she was escorted out of Barrowton without authorization, Willam Dustin investigated the matter, finding Barbrey bare and in a compromisingpredicament with none other then Brandon Stark, in the Rills. Willam threatened Brandon to leave or face trial under the Warden, Rickard Stark {Father of Brandon} who would be very assertive in keeping discipline and order.
Brandon reluctantly left thus ending a long running friendship between the two. Barbrey disagrees with both Willam and Brandon, claiming she loved Brandon but was not in the mood for his arousing desire for her. She also protested that the young lord never wanted to marry Catelyn Tully and that the match was made under Maester Walys advise to Lord Rickard Stark, thus explaining her extreme distrust for maesters in general and often references them as "grey rats" Some label Barbrey as being bitter or unjust in the matter but Eddard Stark sees differently. Eddard concedes that Barbrey is often misunderstood and finds an intrigue in her "rakish" quality in which he has never seen before. After the more then subtle matter ended in the Rills, Barbrey soon warmed up to Willam Dustin, Lord of Barrowton. Willam confessed his boyhood fascination about Barbrey to which she was left in surprise yet flattered all the same. Soon enough the loving couple eloped and Barbrey become Lady of Barrowton, adopting her new name "Dustin". Rickard admits he would have matched Barbrey Ryswell to his liberal second son, Eddard Stark, with gratis. Be it as it may, Barbrey had already married Willam Dustin at the time. Unfortunately their first few months together turned out to be a blissful stage as soon after Willam grew frustrated that Barbrey had still not produced him an heir despite their constant beddings. Barbrey attended the Tourney at Harrenhal with Bethany and Roose Bolton where she met her former lover, Brandon Stark. In her moment of vulnerability, Barbrey confided in the heir of Winterfell about her distressing marriage to which he appeased and comforted her. However, things took a turn for the worse as Willam confronted Barbrey and claimed she was unfaithful but didn't justify his reasoning, to her puzzlement. In return this led her husband to engage in a sexual affair with Hoster Tully's youngest daughter, Lysa Tully, at the tourney. Willam found a sense of comfort in young Lady Tully instead of his own lady wife. Bethany advised Barbrey to get with child for future jubilation but unfortunately for Barbrey, Willam has been distant in his duties. Months passed after the tourney and Willam and Barbrey still did not mend the flaws of their marriage. That was until the night before the events of the rebellion, when Barbrey approached her husband by the Barrowhall highchair. She confessed to feeling lost, alone and confused, in which she tried to warm up to her lord. It proved effective as Willam reciprocated the feeling. Just when Barbrey thought the pair had a bright future together, Lord Eddard Stark summoned his banners, including the Dustins, to aid in the War. Barbrey was left horrid at the news of Brandon's execution, none more so then losing Willam to the war. She pleaded and exhorted for her husband to stay with her, yet in the end Willam still departed. Barbrey was left with no one, not even a child by Willam, just a promise made of returning to her one day. In return, she gifted him with a red Stallion to ride as his steed in battle, before he left. |
